Harry Curtis & Co is a firm, which is Registered as Accountants, Auditors and Tax Practitioners. The practice was established in 1988, its founder Harry Curtis having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1979.

The practice, since inception, has been registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA), formerly the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB).

The practice operates from Cape Town’s, southern suburbs and has clients which include corporations with small turnovers to retail companies with turnovers exceeding R150 million p.a, non-profit organisations, schools, body corporates, trusts, medical practitioners and specialists and sole proprietors.

The practice provides accounts processing, preparation of annual financial statements, auditing of financial statements, taxation services, payroll services, completion of statutory returns, formation and administration of trusts, pastel training, financial advice, business systems analysis and the administration of deceased estates, all under one roof.

Our staff are well trained in the services they render. We undertake continual in-house training and attend training seminars to keep us up to date with latest legislative amendments and other updates.

In fields that are becoming more and more regulated, namely accounting, auditing, taxation and payroll, attention to detail and accuracy is critical. This is an area that staff pride themselves on.

If our staff are adequately trained, accurate in their work but give poor service delivery, we are not going to grow or survive as a practice. Give us the date you wish the task to be completed, and we’ll meet it.

We guarantee that our fees are lower than the average charged by firms registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA). We advise our clients how to prepare themselves before we undertake a task, so to keep the fee as low as possible.

The firm has no articled clerks, so there is little staff turnover. Every attempt is made to retain the majority of the staff on annual audits and account processing for both the clients benefit and improved efficiencies. Staff continuity and preparation of thorough audit / accounting files add to annual efficiencies.

Our staff is happy which makes for good relationships in-house and with clients. We are motivated, performance driven and enjoy our careers.

In today’s world where one is continually being exposed to invasion of privacy, confidentiality of clients information is a policy strictly upheld at Harry Curtis & Co.

Mutual Respect & Trust

Over the years we have identified that the one big ingredient to a strong client relationship is mutual respect. We have always greatly admired the different skills that our clients have and as long as there is mutual respect, trust and openness between us, we have a winning formula.
